Agriculture

Agriculture is a practical subject, empowering students with the knowledge and the fundamental science of “the soil, the plant, and the animal”.

The farm is adjacent to the school. Its primary function is agricultural education, providing a hands-on environment where students are able to observe and actively participate in its running. The farm also has a full time farm assistant. The school farm also supplies opportunities for students to grow and harvest their own crops.  It consists of several main sections:

  • Student plot area
  • School orchard
  • Tool and machinery sheds
  • Animal sheds
  • School paddocks
  • Frog Pond

Agriculture provides an avenue through which students can make connections with the natural world and learn about ecosystems in an authentic learning environment.

Students have the opportunity to elect Agriculture in Years 9 & 10 as well as Primary Industries in Years 11 & 12.
